BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Two football teams that overcame midseason slumps, Wisconsin and Kentucky, will meet in tonight's eighth annual Hall of Fame Bowl game before about 60,000 fans. With Kentucky representing the Southeastern Conference, most of the fans will be pulling for the Wildcats against Wisconsin of the Big Ten.
The Pacers kept their undefeated season perfect Saturday with a 36-34 win over the Royals in Civitan Youth Basketball League play. The Pacers have now opened up a two-game lead in Division B over both the Rockets and the Celtics, who posted wins last week to make their records 3-2.
The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a free throw shooting contest Jan. 12 at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Hall on South Main Street. A total of eight winners in the local contest will advance to the district contest in Lexington.
