Doris Rose Peel, 76, widow of Thomas Peel, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009.
She was retired from IBM in Lexington and was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. Doris was the daughter of the late Orear and Sallie Naylor Lane.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Mike Garrett, and a son, Rodney Peel, her grandchildren, Michael "Mikey" Garrett and his fiancée Angela Evans, Kelsey Garrett, Shane and wife Amy Powers, Dawn and husband Sherman Jett, Raymond Thomas Peel and Caleb Peel, her great-grandchildren, Alexia and Ayden Powers, and a great-granddaughter due in March.
She also leaves behind her best friend, Delphia Greene. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Powers Walker. Services were 11 a.m. Tuesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with EBC Rev. Steve Sholar officiating.
