Net Xpress: Facebook privacy settings undergoing changes

June 05, 2010|By SHEILA CLARK | sheila@amnews.com

One of the most popular topics on the Internet at the moment is the privacy features of Facebook. The popular social networking site has been plagued with disruptions due to the many changes it has made on its privacy features.

Facebook has so many different areas where a user can adjust certain privacy features. It seemed that the more Facebook tweaked the privacy features, the more complicated it became for its users to keep the privacy features under control.

Eventually, protesters started Facebook groups and campaigns to show their dislike of the changes to the privacy features. One campaign started because of the privacy issues had the intent of causing a mass exodus from Facebook on May 31. Read about the Quit Facebook campaign at http://www.quitfacebookday.com.

On Wednesday, Facebook began rolling out a new, simplified version of its privacy features. According to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the latest changes were designed to reflect some of the wishes of Facebook users.
