WAYNESBURG — A Lincoln County man is dead after a head-on collision between two pickup trucks on Ky. 3276 near the Pulaski County line Monday morning.
Lincoln County Sheriff Curt Folger said Harold Wilson, 48, of the Waynesburg area, was pronounced dead at Fort Logan Hospital. Cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
What caused the accident is still under investigation, but Folger said two trucks, a Nissan driven by Wilson and a Ford F-350 driven by Waynesburg resident Shelley McGuffy, collided head-on at a curve along Ky. 3276. The accident happened after 11 a.m.
An air evac team was called to transport Wilson, but it left without taking anyone on board. Folger said that might mean Wilson died while being treated in an ambulance at the scene.
McGuffy was taken to Lake Cumberland Hospital. Folger said he has been unable to obtain her age or interview her yet. McGuffy was still in the emergency department of the hospital at 4:15 p.m. Monday, but she was in good condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
