I commend the Heart of Danville for its recent downtown cleanup. It was a noticeable improvement. Business owners/managers used to keep the public areas in front of their respective businesses free of litter, windows washed and snow removed.
It seems that this is no longer a regular practice. When everyone did their share, the downtown looked cared for and attractive. The south side of Main Street between Second and Third is especially conspicuous for the lack of attention by the businesses in this block.
Thank you also to the Heart of Danville for offering the Friday night movies in Constitution Square State Historic Site. This three-acre park is such an asset to our community and a great place for public events.
