Bus route connects three cities



The Wilderness Trace Connector Route transportation between Danville, Stanford and Lancaster now is available 7:20 a.m.-7:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. The route will run to Danville from the Stanford Walmart at 7:35 a.m., 9:11 a.m., 12:29 p.m., 1:45 p.m., 3:25 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. and to Lancaster at 8:20 a.m., 10 a.m., 1:10 p.m., 2:50 p.m., 4:10 p.m., and 5:27 p.m.

Blood drive in Crab Orchard



The Kentucky Blood Center will be conducting a blood drive 3-7 p.m. Monday in the cafeteria at Crab Orchard Elementary School. Each donor will receive a $10 Walmart gift card. Interested donors can call 1-800-775-2522 or visit http://www.kybloodcenter.org for blood drive and donor center details.

Register for school supplies



NSpire Inc. will give away school supplies to children in need on July 27. Call to register prior to July 23 to place a name on the waiting list. All supplies will be given on a first-come first-served basis, therefore registration is necessary. Donations also are being accepted and are greatly appreciated. Lincoln library plans events



The Lincoln County Public Library will have Story Hour 10 a.m. every Wednesday beginning Aug. 4 for children ages 18 months through 5. The theme for August is “bugs.”

A movie matinee will be shown at 4:30 p.m. each Tuesday beginning Aug. 3. On Aug. 3, “Diary of A Wimpy Kid” will be showing. There will be pizza and drinks. Each child will receive a bag of essential school supplies. It is open to all school-age children.

Back-to-School Bash planned in July



The men and women of American Legion Post No. 345 will hold a Back to School Bash 11 a.m.-1 p.m. July 24 for children in kindergarten up to eighth grade, accompanied by parents. The bash will be held at the post at 909 E. Main St., Stanford.

Children will be given school supplies. Activities will include inflatables, face painting, line dancing, other games, drawings, prizes and refreshments.

Benefit poker run planned in August



The Michael Payton Memorial Emergency Services Scholarship FundInc. is sponsoring its first annual poker run Aug. 22. Registration is 1:30-2:30 at Ultimate Thunder Cycle, 308 Fackler St., Danville.

The cost is $10 per rider and $5 per poker hand. Proceeds will help pay tuition for EMTs and paramedics in local counties in memory of Michael Payton. In case of rain, date will be changed to Aug. 29. For more information, call (606) 346-3613.
