Book signing set for Aug. 31 in Stanford

STANFORD — Jan Watson, award winning author of the “Troublesome Creek” series published by Tyndale, will sign books and read from her latest in the series, “Still House Pond,” at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 31 at Kentucky Soaps & Such. For a review of “Still House Pond,” see page C3.

“It is an honor to have Jan back with us,” said Angela Correll, owner of Kentucky Soaps & Such. “The books are set in Eastern Kentucky in the late 1800s, a perfect fit for our store and our customers.”

The evening will begin with a reception at 6:30 and reading at 7 p.m. Watson will be available to answer questions after the reading and before signing books. All the books in the “Troublesome Creek” series will be available for sale, including “Troublesome Creek,” “Willow Springs,” “Torrent Falls,” “Sweetwater Run” as well as “Still House Pond.”

The evening is sponsored in part by the Grassroots Writers Group, of which Watson and Correll are members.

“We hope to invite other Kentucky authors to read throughout the fall and winter,” says Carrie Goode, Kentucky Soaps & Such store manager. “This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our Kentucky books.”
