Robert Ira Mathews, 77, of Nicholasville died Tuesday.
A native of Jessamine County, he graduated from Wilmore High School.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired employee of Federal Aviation Association.
He was husband to Wava Waits Mathews and father to Jeffery Glenn Mathews of Nicholasville and Allen Dean and Mary Ellen, who preceded him in death.
Other survivors are two granddaughters, Emily and Holly Moore; two brothers, Kenneth and David Mathews; and nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, John Mathews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, burial in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Thursday.
