Chris Butler led Lincoln’s scoring in the third annual Garrard County Invitational, finishing the day with a 3-over-par 74 Saturday at Dix River Country Club.

Butler, an LCHS junior, was the only Patriot golfer to finish in the 70’s in the 18-hole tournament. With Zach Johnson carding an 83, Chris Risner eight strokes back at 91 and Jordan Withrow at a distant 98, Lincoln did not fare well as a team, tying with three other teams for 16th place in the 22-team tournament. Lincoln, Bardstown, Washington County and Wayne County all finished at 346.

Boyle County repeated as tourney champion, with Grant Blevins leading the Rebels to victory with the day’s low round of 69. Boyle’s next three players all finished in the 70’s with Ben Kendrick firing a 76 and Dakota Jarmin and Zack Lindbert both posting rounds of 78 for a team low of 301.

Blevins’ round of 69 was enough to help Boyle edge out Corbin’s “A” team for the invitational win. All of Corbin “A” finished in the 70’s, led by C. Ellis with a 74. Chandler Maguet had a 75, Connor Maguet had a 76 and E. Jones shot a 77.

Anderson County came in fourth in the tournament with 310, Danville was fifth with 317 and Corbin’s “B” team was sixth with 318.

Host Garrard County finished 12th overall with a 328. Jonah Johnson had the Golden Lions’ low round of 75.
