The Boyle County Farm Bureau will hold its 89th annual meeting and dinner 7 p.m. Sept. 21 in Grow Hall on the Kentucky School for the Deaf campus. The meeting is for all Farm Bureau members and will feature a steak dinner. The business meeting will follow, with an election of directors and officers. The guest speaker will be Bob Stallman, president of the American Farm Bureau Federation. Stallman is a rice and cattle producer in Columbia, Texas. He is the 11th president of the organization and was elected to office in January 2000.
Stallman will speak on agriculture issues that not only affect the nation, but Kentucky and Boyle County as well.
Boyle County Farm Bureau members are asked to call the Farm Bureau office at (859) 236-4081 and make reservations for the dinner. Tickets are $4 per person. There will be an Outstanding Youth Contest and variety show after the business meeting. Service awards and Young Farmer award winners will be announced. There also will be door prize drawings for attendees.
