Prep Golf: McDonald shoots 43 to lead Boyle County girls over LCA

Caroline McDonald shot a 43 Monday as Boyle County heat visiting Lexington Christian Academy at Old Bridge.

Rachel Pingleton and Alexis Draut each shot 45 for the Rebels, who finished with a 180 team total while LCA had a 250.

“Caroline has been working especially hard to improve her short game,” Boyle coach Sandy Waters said.

“Her scores over the last several weeks have reflected that hard work. We are very pleased to see her playing so well at this critical time in the season.”

Boyle plays Western Hill at Juniper Hills in Frankfort today.

West Jessamine 161, Mercer County 193 — At Harrodsburg, the Colts had two players shoot in the 30s in a win over the Titans at Bright Leaf.

Ally Perrin led Mercer with a 45. Emily Haas shot a 36 and Grace Rose a 39 for West Jessamine.

“We played one of the top teams in the region tonight and they outplayed us tee to green,” Mercer coach Terry Dailey said. “Allison Griffith shot her low round of the year with a 50 and we are going to continue to work as hard as we can to get ready for the regional tournament on September 27.”
