To the editor:
On behalf of the residents and staff of Wesley Village Senior Living Community, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteer firefighters of Wilmore and Jessamine County under the local command of Chief Jimmy Powers who responded to a Village call on Sunday, Sept. 5. Led that day by officer Mike Wheatley, each and every volunteer could not have been more prompt, caring and professional in the carrying out of their duties.
They took every precaution to minimize damage to the outside of the home where the blaze occurred.
More impressive, they took extraordinary measures to protect precious belongings inside the home. They even made sure the neighbor’s small poodle stayed out of harm’s way.
Experiencing first-hand the outstanding response of the Wilmore volunteer fire department has made us all feel a little more safe and secure here at Wesley Village — a good feeling indeed.
