Bobbie Curd began her employment with the Advocate-Messenger in September of 2004 as a staff writer for the Garrard County beat. Three years later, she began covering Boyle County/Danville, and in late 2008 became a copy editor and page designer. Bobbie studied communications at the University of Kentucky and worked for the college for six years. She relocated to Milwaukee for a short stint, but returned home after her first niece was born. Before coming to The Advocate-Messenger, she worked for the corporate office of an oil company, took a brief career hiatus and toured Mexico, and worked as a corporate recruiter for an international company's Lexington branch. Although she first thought she "wanted out of corporate life," working for The Advocate-Messenger has shown her that believing in what you do can make all the difference in the world.
