Dear Editor,
Should all residents of Junction City not have a Junction City address?
Mr. Goode is passing out literature stating Mayor Douglas is trying to raise taxes. First of all, the mayor does not set the tax rates. The city council sets the tax rate. The present municipal tax rate is 12 percent, which was implemented in 1988, not by the present administration.
I am quite sure that most, if not all, Junction City residents with Danville addresses are already paying municipal tax to Junction City. However, does Mr. Goode think it is OK to cheat on your taxes? If you live in Junction City, whether you have a Junction City address or a Danville address, your taxes should be paid in Junction City.
Junction City is now financially stable, and there is no reason in sight to raise or implement any new taxes. Think about it.
