Kerr is right choice for Frankfort

October 12, 2010

To the editor:

Now is the time to elect Peter Kerr as our state representative. I’ve appreciated my friendship with Peter for the last five years, and I’ve seen how he embodies Christian principles, family values, and community service. His honesty and integrity are of the highest level, and I cannot think of a person who is better-equipped to represent us in Frankfort.

As an Air Force Academy graduate, he has already shown his devotion to our country. He’s a highly decorated veteran from the Kosovo and Gulf wars, and he ended his military service at the Pentagon where he helped organize the Ronald Reagan State funeral. His many experiences have made him a thoughtful man with a solid grasp on political issues and the necessary vision to improve our government and lives in Jessamine County.

People who are looking for a new kind of politician should check out Peter Kerr. He’s not interested in personal advancement or partisan politics. In fact, he calls himself a “Republican/Independent” candidate with fresh ideas, and I’ve heard him explain how we can balance the budget, resist raising taxes, implement 12-year term limits, improve education, care for veterans and the elderly/retired, reform health care, and work in a bi-partisan manner to benefit all of Kentucky.

We owe it to ourselves and our commonwealth to elect Peter. He’s active in our community as a university professor, small-business owner and ordained minister.

I know him to be a devoted husband and father of four very well-behaved children. He stands for family values and is the Kentucky Right to Life endorsed candidate. I know he’ll make a significant contribution and truly serve our district. We cannot afford to miss this opportunity to elect an outstanding candidate.

Please join me in supporting Peter Kerr for the Kentucky House of Representatives.

Barry R. May, Nicholasville
