Indictments: Boyle grand jury indicts man for criminal mischief

A Harrodsburg man who allegedly was intoxicated and firing a handgun from his car before he crashed it into a home near Perryville has been indicted by a Boyle County grand jury.

Chad Troute, 36, of 490 Atlee Drive was indicted on three counts of wanton endangerment, three counts of criminal mischief and driving under the influence related to the incident on Aug. 15.

A witness told police that Troute was driving at a high rate of speed and firing a pistol from his vehicle just before he crashed into the home of Mark Webb at 825 Mitchellsburg Road.

Webb and two minor children were allegedly in the home when the crash occurred, leading to the wanton endangerment charges, according to the indictment.

Two of Webb’s vehicles parked in the driveway also sustained serious damage when Troute’s Nissan Altima crashed in to the home, prompting the criminal mischief charges.

Police said they also recovered another handgun, several magazines of ammunition, handcuffs and mace in Troute’s vehicle. He allegedly told officers that he had consumed alcohol and prescription drugs and was on his way to buy more alcohol when the crash occurred.

Bond was set at $30,000. Deputy Al Isaacs testified before the grand jury.

Others indicted were:

Garry L. Yarnell, 31, of 1564 Dry Fork Road, fleeing police, two counts of wanton endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident, DUI, resisting arrest and fourth-degree assault on Sept. 6.

According to the indictment, Yarnell allegedly left the scene of an accident and led police on a pursuit that endangered the life of deputies Isaacs and Derek Robbins and allegedly resisted arrest. The alleged assault involved Kimberly Yarnell.

Bond was set at $10,000. Isaacs testified before the grand jury.

Aarom Voris, 31, Shannon Bryant, 23, both of Harrodsburg, and Rosemary Coffman, 22, of Burgin, four counts each of possession of a forged instrument for allegedly having forged checks totaling $1,189 drawn on Fort Knox Credit Union in September. Bonds were set at $10,000 each. Danville detective Todd Davis testified.

Justin Epperson, 26, 444 N. Main St., Danville, possession of a forged instrument for allegedly having a forged check for $489 drawn on Fort Knox Credit Union on Sept. 8. Bond was set at $5,000. Davis testified.

Alvin Leon Mays, 34, Boyle County Detention Center, promoting contraband for allegedly introducing illegal items to the jail on Aug. 10. Bond was set at $5,000. Jail officer Chris Hubbard testified.

Sharon McGeorge, 32, of Somerset, two counts of possession of a forged instrument for allegedly having two forged checks totaling $470 drawn on Bluegrass Community Bank in June and July. Bond was set at $10,000. Danville officer Sharon Johnson testified.

Steven Napier, 38, of Crab Orchard, wanton endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident and DUI for allegedly placing Christopher Dunn in substantial danger of injury of death on Aug. 24. Bond was set at $5,000. Daniel Grigsby testified.

Oscar Lopez Reyes, 23, Mexico City, Mexico, possession of a forged instrument and DUI for allegedly having a forged Kentucky I.D. card on Aug. 6. Bond was set at $5,000. Isaacs testified.
