Letter: Don't agree with vandalism letter

October 22, 2010

Dear Editor,

Let’s get real about vandalized campaign signs. We took a “ride about” earlier this week to get a feel of the community toward preference of candidates in the coming elections.

There were signs knocked down sporting the names of Terry Crowley and Jamie Gay.

Pat Bodner (10/13/19) directed her letter toward citizens preferring some of the incumbents, as perpetrators of the heinous deeds. She insinuates that the opponents of (these are her words, “Bernie Hunstad, Hugh Coomer, in a past election, and Norma Gail Louis” ... ) are at fault.

We don’t agree with this. We do agree with Ms. Bodner about the “free country” issue. The vandalism does need to stop.

We question the “getting a job at McDonald’s” statement. Who is being accused of not working hard, of not putting in a full day’s work?

Surely not any of the candidates on the ballot — not any of them would have that much spare time.
