Our pets of the week are Daisy and Delilah.
Daisy is a sweet, 1-year-old, gray and white cat. She is very social and playful. Daisy is spayed and has been declawed, so she needs an inside home where she will make the purrfect companion.
Delilah is a darling, 7-month-old terrier mix. She has the energetic nature of a terrier and is friendly with other dogs. Delilah is a cutie that will be a wonderful inside pet.
The Danville-Boyle County Humane Society is having a fur sale. Kittens are two for the price of one and adult dogs and cats are $20 off the regular adoption fee. Prices include spay or neuter surgery and much more. If you are considering adding a pet to your family please come to the shelter and visit the beautiful animals waiting for new homes. Also, many of our available pets may be viewed at our website www.homes4pets.org.
Our next obedience class will be 12:30 p.m. Jan. 8 at Stuart Powell Ford on the Danville bypass. The class, taught by dog trainer Cheri Carbone, is free for those who have adopted from a shelter or rescue. Others are welcome to join in for a small donation to the Humane Society.
The humane society urgently needs more volunteers to help on weekend afternoons at our adoption center at the PetSmart at Brannon Crossing in Nicholasville. To learn how you can help with the rewarding work of placing homeless animals with their new forever families, please contact our volunteer coordinator by e-mail at humanevolunteer@gmail.com
The humane society welcomes donations of Purina puppy chow and Purina cat food and kitten chow along with bleach, paper towels, laundry detergent, dish detergent and hand soap. We always need used towels and blankets. Your donations to the shelter are greatly appreciated.
Low-cost, high-quality spay/neuter surgery is available for pet owners with low and fixed incomes. For an appointment, call our Happy Paws Clinic at (859) 691-1137. Please help control pet over-population by having your pet spayed or neutered.
