Martha Lovett Lewis, 85, of Junction City died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
Born Saturday, Dec. 5, 1925, in Junction City, she was a daughter of the late A.T. and Mary Lee Webb Lovett. She was a homemaker and a former sales clerk for the Hub, Parks-Belk and Britts department stores. Mrs. Lewis was a former child-care worker for the Presbyterian Church pre-school and a Junction City High School graduate. She was a member of Junction City Christian Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Jan (Butch) Belcher of Junction City; sister, Betty (Eddie) Walker of Danville; daughter-in-law, Linda Lewis of Danville; sisters-in-law, Ruth Lovett of Junction City, Mildred Crider of Harlan and Hazel Lewis of Pittsburgh, Pa.; grandchildren, Scott (Tonya) Lewis, Andrea (Job) Richards, Nicole (David) Adams and Audrey (Jeremy) Noel; great-grandchildren, Alex and Lauren Richards, Ty and Madison Noel, Ella and Ashley Lewis, and Carson and Caroline Adams; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, whom she wed on Feb. 11, 1945, Clyde F. Lewis; son, Daryl Lewis; brothers, Frances, Estes and Melvin Lovett; and sisters, Hazel Bowles, Thelma Gresham, Lena Wiggs, Jewel Foster and Grace Robinson.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home, with Bros. Barry Harmon and Keith Weldon officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Adams, Scott Lewis, Job Richards, Jeremy Noel, Ty Noel and Chris McAfee.
Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
