Obituary: Bobby C. Elmore

Bobby Carter Elmore, 80, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011. 

Born Aug. 27, 1930, in Lincoln County, he was the son of Mayme Adams and William Elmore. He was a retired building contractor and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and attended Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Poynter Elmore; three sons, Ricky (Marilyn) Elmore of Garrard County, Robbie (Linda) Elmore of Danville and Rusty (Patricia) Elmore of Garrard County.

He also is survived by his brother, Walter Elmore of Dayton, Ohio; and his sister, Elsie Bodner of Danville. He is survived by four grandchildren, Shelley (John) Cerqueira, Andrea (Kyle) May, Allison (Jacob) Tamme and Chad Elmore; and four great-grandchildren, Maggie Cerqueira, Riley Cerqueira, Lucy Claire May and Gracie Lynn Elmore.

He is survived by three step-grandchildren as well, Valarie Boyd, Ricky (Candace) Boyd and Dathan (Charity) Lane, as well as three step-great grandchildren, Owen Lane, Nelson Cole Boyd and Eli Lane.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Elmore and J.W. Elmore. 

Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. Visitation is after 6 p.m. today, Jan. 20, also at Stith Funeral Home, Danville. 

Pallbearers will be Chad Elmore, John Cerqueira, Kyle May, Jacob Tamme, Jimmy Propes and David Elmore. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jack Hankla, James Johnson, Wayne Clemons, Loren Arth, Mark Brown and Hubert Brown.
