Musical notes

Mount Freeman Baptist Church — 6 p.m. Sunday, Saving Grace will sing. The church is on White Oak Road.

First sermon

Bethel AME Church, Boneyville — 3 p.m. Sunday, Tony Gooch will give his initial sermon. 11 a.m. Sunday, the guest preacher will be the Rev. Patrick Jackson of Baltimore, Md.

Guest speaker

Hope Full Gospel Church, Danville —
11 a.m. Sunday, the speaker will be Agatha Jarber, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Ricco Floyd will speak.

Additional service

First Baptist Church, Second and Walnut streets — Starting Sunday, the church will hold an additional worship service. Both services will be led by the pastor, Darrick Briscoe.  Women’s retreat

Christ the Head Missionary Church — Saturday, the  women of the church will have a women's prayer retreat. The retreat starts at 9 a.m. with registration and breakfast.  Food things to eat

Alum Springs First Church of God — 5-7 p.m. Jan. 29, the church men’s group will have a chili supper. Tickets are $6 each and may be purchased from a member of the men’s group or at the door. Proceeds will benefit the church building fund. For more information, call (859) 236-4859 or 236-3729.
