Lancaster B&B hosts mystery tea event

LANCASTER — Hammonds Hall Bed and Breakfast will host its regular Teacup Mysteries interactive dinner event 2 p.m. Saturday.

The Teacup Mystery is titled, “Legend of Lovers’ Leap.” Participants will join in a sock hop, help solve a mystery and enjoy food during the event.

Cost is $30, which includes costumes, food and simulation. For reservations, call (859) 792-6632. Hammonds Hall Bed and Breakfast is at 216 W. Maple Ave. in Lancaster.


Boyle County schools Valentine gift rules

For Valentine’s Day Boyle County High School and Boyle County Middle School will accept deliveries from parents and florists after 1 p.m. Please remember that no glass, pottery, anything breakable, balloons, or large stuffed animals are allowed to be taken home on the bus. It is a Kentucky State Transportation law.

Florida golf tournament in memory of Junction man

A memorial couples golf tournament will be 9 a.m. Feb. 21 at Blue Herron Golf Course in Okeechobee, Fla. The tournament will be held in honor of Dale Walls,  who died May 29, 2010. Walls was a former mayor of Junction City, served as director of Blue Cypress Men’s Golf League and was a past president of Blue Cypress Condo Association.

A $60 fee per couple includes 18 holes of golf and a lunch of pulled pork, chips and slaw. Proceeds will benefit Hospice.
