Charged
— Daniel L. Smith, 25, of 141 Bay Hill Drive, was charged Friday with theft by unlawful taking.
— Melissa R. Mendoza, 34, of 136 Greenway Drive, was charged Friday with fourth-degree assault.

Reports
— At 2:07 p.m. Friday, Kathy Daniel of 1530 Amster Grove Road reported that someone took a check and cashed it.
— On Tuesday, Barbara Puckett of 110 Leann Lane reported that someone tried to break into the back door of her house.

Accident
— At 8:10 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to an injury accident on Interstate 64 near the 97 mile marker in which Christopher Simonson of 110 Springridge Way was traveling west when he lost control of his vehicle. It left the highway, struck a ditch and overturned several times. Simonson and a passenger were transported to Clark Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
