Approximately $3,500 was raised here in last Sunday’s door-to-door residential canvas for the American Heart Association, according to Joe F. Reed, Clark County campaign chairman.
An area in Clark County once used by ancient Indians possibly for sacred ceremonies recently was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. According to Jim Railey, staff archaeologist with the Kentucky Heritage Council, the site is circular earthwork constructed by Indians during the middle woodland period between the time of Christ and about 500 A.D.
The Sun has been designated a National Blue Ribbon Newspaper for 1986 and 1987 by the National Newspaper Foundation.
