The Kentucky General Assembly directed the Transportation Cabinet to erect a monument tol honor the memory of Officer Gary E. Kidwell by erecting signs on United States Highway 150, at the Rockcastle and Lincoln County line that reads "In Memory of Officer Gary E. Kidwell."
Kidwell was shot and killed on Jan. 20, 1991 after making a traffic stop. Kidwell was 41 at the time of his death.
