Rhudell Spears, of Winchester, formerly of McRoberts, Ky., passed away at her home Wednesday morning.
She was born on Sept. 8, 1921 at McRoberts, Ky., and lived there until moving to Winchester about eight years ago. She was a mother and a homemaker.
Many years ago, her family had the post office in McRobert, and she retired from there as an assistant postmaster. She later worked as a cashier at the Jenkins Country Club. Rhudell was a member of the McRoberts Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Bertha Gaye Tackett (Carl Rex) of Fort Blackmore, Va., and Deborah Counts (Mark) of Big Stone Gap, Va.; three sons, Jimmy Spears (Nevida) of Versailles, Edwin “Bo” Spears of Winchester, and William Spears (Linda) of Lawrenceburg; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Canie Bentley of Winchester; a brother, Morgan B. Johnson Jr. of Ocala, Fla.; and a host of other friends and relatives.
