Studio One dance school fares well in Tennessee

Studio One School of Dance recently had seven teams competing at the Showdown of Champions clogging championships in Knoxville, Tenn.  


The team competed against cloggers from 12 other states reaching from Georgia to Maryland and all the way to California. The teams competed in several categories in Amateur and Challenge events.


The youngest Studio One team to perform was Lil’ Power, which consists of Jenna Dotson, Karlee Aldridge and Janna Beth Winburn. They competed in Amateur Small Team and were third runner-up Amateur Artistic Expression.


Star Power, which consists of Faith Hughes, Aaliyah Crawford, Taylor McCord, ReAnna Whitaker, Micah Ledford and Jackson Campbell competed in Amateur Small Team, where they were the third runner-up, and Amateur Moving Line and Amateur Exhibition.  


Steel Power, which consists of Lyric Campbell, Abigail Dotson, Emily Rice, Shelby Gilkerson, Janna Godby, Kayla Godby, Abby Easterling, Lauren Thomas, and Sophie and Lacee Duncan, competed in Challenge Hoedown, where they were the first runner-up; Challenge Traditional Line, where they were the third runner-up; Challenge Precision, where they were the fourth runner-up; Challenge Moving Line; and Challenge Standing Line.

The Extreme Power cloggers, which are Brack Duncan, Lauren Aldridge, Sophie Sams, Elizabeth Hardiman and Alexis Ockerman competed in Amateur Exhibition; Amateur Standing Line, where they were the first runner-up; and Amateur Small Team, where they were the Overall Grand Champion.  


They were also able to compete in the Dance-Off competition, a great honor.  


Ultimate Power, which consists of Mary Claire Mahanes, Caroline Browning, Kaylee Thomas, Alex Schwab, Brack Duncan and Hunter Thomas, competed in Challenge Small Team, Challenge Standing Line, Challenge Exhibition, and Challenge Moving Line, where they were the second runner-up.


The Sole Power clogging team is a Senior Challenge team and consists of Keegan Crosby, Alyson and Caitlyn Vincent, Jordan Henry, Lauren Columbia, Hannah Cox, Whitney Haddix and Mary Claire Mahanes. They competed in Challenge Small Team, where they took Overall Grand Champion; Challenge Standing Line, where they were the third runner-up; Challenge Moving Line; and Challenge Precision.  
They were also qualified to compete in the Dance-Off competition for Overall Champion.


The adult Studio One clogging team, Power Trip, consists of Kenneth Fithen, Tonya Duncan, Lana Thomas, Johnny Dotson, Steve Crosby and David and Kristy Aldridge. Power Trip competed in Amateur Small Team and Amateur Traditional Line.


The Studio One team, which is a combined group of Steel and Sole Power dancers competed in the Challenge Exhibition, where they were the second runner-up.  


Ultimate and Sole Power dancers also combined to compete in Challenge Traditional Line where they were the third runner-up.
