“The Big Bounce,” a sound-color film on the development of the Echo I satellite, was show by Morris Futrell at Friday’s meeting of the Winchester Rotary Club at the Old South Inn. The Echo space unit was launched last August and is still in orbit. The history-making satellite — a metallic balloon 100 feet in diameter — was used to “bounce” a taped telephone statement by then-President Eisenhower across the nation.

Misses Nettie and Ollie Bean have moved from the late J.L. Skinner on the Mount Sterling Road to an apartment at 148 W. Lexington Ave.
