Doris Reffitt Whisman, 48, mother of Shannon Johnson of Winchester, passed away at 7:16 a.m. Thursday, March 17, at her home after a long battle with cancer.
A native of Frenchburg, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Betty Castle Reffitt.
Additional survivors include her husband, Calvin Whisman; son-in-law, John Johnson of Winchester; four grandchildren, Jaylynn and Brooklyn Johnson, and Gracie and Alexis Litteral; three sisters, Ramona (Jacky) Watts and Tonya (Troy) Fugate of Winchester and Arlinda Gleffe of Oklahoma; a brother, Jim (Connie) Reffitt of Winchester; three sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, Tanya Brock, Randy and Kay Whisman and Danny and Vickie Whisman, all of Winchester and Lyman and Sally Whisman of Versailles; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Ark of Mercy. There will be no visitation.
The family would like to thank Hospice East and many friends for their support through Doris’ illness.
