STANFORD — Eunice Mason Brown, 86, of Green River, died Saturday.
Born June 15, 1924, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Victor and Sibbie Ellen Trent Mason. She was the widow of Clarence Brown. During World War II she had worked in the Willow Run B-24 Bomber Plant in Ypsilanti, Mich., as a riveter, “Rosie the Riveter.” She retired after 37 years from Genesco Plant in Danville, where she did payroll in the office. She was a member of New Bethel Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Billy L. Brown (Mary Jo) of Green River; a daughter, Nona Naylor (Jimmy McBee) of Danville; a sister, Reedena Lawson of Berea, Ky.; four grandchildren, Missy Brandenburg, Jerry Wayne Naylor, Sharon Allen and Kerry Naylor; and six great-grandchildren, Zac Brandenburg, Brittany Naylor, Austin Naylor, Michaela Brandenburg, Carlee Allen and Carson Allen. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Foneva Ford, Lillie Girdler and Joyce Simpson.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, with Virgil Eubank officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Jeremiah Brandenburg, Kerry Naylor, Jerry Wayne Naylor, Bobby Brown, Dale Reed, Greg Allen and Ricky Elmore.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
