WMU to conduct hydrant testing

Winchester Municipal Utilities will be testing hydrants on the following roads on Wednesday: Augusta Drive, Bentbrook Court, Boonesboro Road, Canvasback Lane, Clubhouse Drive, Fairfax Drive, Freedom Way, Gadwall Lane, Justice Drive, McClure Road, Pintail Lane, Rose Drive, Teal Lane and Woodduck Court.

AARP to have potluck dinner

The AARP Chapter 632 will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday for a potluck supper at the Generations Center, 32 Meadow St. Jennifer Howard from the Clark County Health Department will be the speaker.

State legislator speaks to Kiwanis Wednesday

State Rep. Donna Mayfield, R-Winchester, will be the guest speaker at the Winchester Kiwanis Club luncheon at noon Wednesday at the Taste of China. She will be introduced by Bill Bolton, the program chairman.

— A sports column published Monday said that University of Kentucky basketball player Brandon Knight was a “toddler” the last time the Wildcats advanced to the national semifinals. He actually would have been 6 years old. A toddler is a child 1 to 3 years old.
— A police report Tuesday said that police officers were called to a home “after an 18-year-old male assaulted her 14-year-old daughter.” It should have said the caller’s 14-year-old daughter.

Providence SBDM to meet on April 12

Providence Elementary School will have its School-based Decision-making Council meeting Tuesday, April 12 at 3 p.m. in the school library.

Winery owner speaks to Rotary Club Friday

Cathy Edwards will speak about her family’s Clark County winery, Harkness Edwards Vineyards, at the Winchester Rotary Club meeting Friday at noon at the Winchester Country Club. Jess Snowden, the program chairman, will introduce her.
