Hubert Cecil Royalty, 88, of Danville died Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at his home.
Born May 13, 1923, in Gravel Switch, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Maggie Hardin Royalty. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Myrtle Gipson Royalty.
He was a member of Danville Church of Christ, an electrician and member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, a World War II Army veteran, an avid fisherman and a woodworker.
Survivors include three sons, David (Ann) Royalty of Cold Spring, Ky., Delmer (Geraldine) Royalty of Burgin and Jerry (Kathy) Royalty of Lawrenceburg; six grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jason Benson) Royalty, Jason (Kim) Royalty, Kristal (Tim) Moore, Kyla (Jason) Satterly, Scott Blackburn and Brad Blackburn; seven great-grandchildren, Edwin Quinn and Edward Cade Benson, Kaitlyn Royalty, Mallory and Megan Moore, Jaxon Satterly and Mia Blackburn; and three sisters, Laura Coyle of Nicholasville, Wilma Cotton of Danville and Juanita Bugg of Louisville.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Stith Funeral Home with Scott Vifquain. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at Stith Funeral Home.
