Dead animal removal assistance approved for Lincoln County

FRANKFORT — The Kentucky Agricultural Development Board, chaired by Gov. Steve Beshear, has approved $7,500 in support of a dead farm animal removal program in Lincoln County.
Lincoln Fiscal Court submitted a proposal to the county agricultural development council and the state agricultural development board.
The program was established as an interim measure to facilitate the coordination of environmentally sound and cost-effective disposal of dead livestock.
Funds will assist with the expenses of an acceptable disposal program, such as contracting for removal, incineration, composting or other methods that meet Kentucky statutes, for costs incurred after July 1, 2010.
For more information, contact Alan Bowman with Fiscal Court at (859) 326-0097 or abowman@lincolnky.com.
