Our view: What should your school be named?

April 28, 2011

For nearly half a century, Clark County’s only public secondary school has been named George Rogers Clark High School — a tribute to the general for whom our county is also named.
The school district, however, is building a new high school on Boonesboro Road, and its leaders want to know what you think it should be called.
You can go to GRC’s website, http://www.grchs.com/ to fill out a form. You may either click on the box to vote to keep the name as it is: George Rogers Clark, or go to the line below and offer another suggestion. Or you may pick up a paper form at one of the local banks, fill it out, and submit it to Central Office, 1600 W. Lexington Ave., no later than April 30.
School officials will make the decision, but they want your input. If  you don’t offer a suggestion, you shouldn’t complain about whatever name is chosen.
