Robert Kenneth Houp, 77, husband of Louella Henry Houp, of East Main Street died at his home May 8. He was an employee of the University of Kentucky for 33 years and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He spent his retirement with his family and woodworking in his shop making crafts. Kenneth was also a member of The Antique Tractor Association and enjoyed being with his horses. He was the son of the late Robert Stanley Houp and Lottie Lamb Houp. Additional survivors include three children and their spouses, Sue Ann and husband Murle Crowe, Robert Kenneth and wife Vanda Houp Jr., and Sharon Lee and husband Kenny Wesley; a stepson, Charles William Montgomery; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers Charles, J.D., Jimmy and Bradley Houp; and sisters Nancy True and Connie Harris. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Jean Duggins, Mary Barron and Faye Powell. Services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with his special friend the Rev. Dwight Winter officiating. Burial will be in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation was from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday. Bearers were Shane Raines, Ernie and Mike Wesley, Adam and Kent Houp, Murle Crowe, David Culver and Joe Guffey.
