Obituaries: Sam McLean

Sam McLean, 61, husband of Sandra Smith McLean, died Monday, May 16. He was born Dec. 13, 1949, in Mt. Sterling to the late William and Mattie Harper McLean. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Kelly and husband Jimmy Patterson, Twila and husband Roger Long Nott, and Beverly Michelle McLean, all of Nicholasville; sons Sammy K. McLean of Lexington, and Sammy G. and wife Cathy McLean of Nicholasville; sisters Sherry Sauls of Irvine, Patricia and husband Jim Brumfield of Richmond, Alice and husband Steve Tubbs of Paris, and Paula Dunn of Mt. Sterling; brothers Lewis McLean of Lexington and Jeff McLean of Nicholasville; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sam was also preceded in death by his brothers, William and George McLean. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 20, with Pastor Willie Laswell officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Nicholasville. Casketbearers will be Sammy McLean, Barry Nott, James Oney, Leslie Smith, Mark Smith, Roger Long, William McLean and Jimmy Patterson.
