Rabies clinic May 31
There will be a rabies clinic from 6-8 p.m. May 31 at Goff’s Corner Market, 12335 Iron Works Road. The clinic is sponsored by the Clark County Veterinary Clinic in conjunction with the Clark County Health Department. For More information, call Carlene Whitt at 744-1488.
Class of 1948 to meet
The Clark County High School Class of 1948 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kathy’s in Clay City. Those planning to carpool have been asked to meet at 10:45 a.m. behind McDonald's in Shopper’s Village parking lot. The luncheons are open to all class members and are held the first Wednesday of each month at various area restaurants.
Blood drive June 9
The Kentucky Blood Center will have a blood drive at Palmer Engineering, 400 Shoppers Drive, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, June 9 in the conference room. All donors will be eligible to win a $25 Walmart gift card. Donors must be 17, or 16 with parental consent.
Recount: Johnson won primary vote
A recanvass of the Republican contest for secretary of state in the May primary found that the outcome remains unchanged: Bill Johnson won. Candidate Hilda Legg had asked for a recanvass because the margin was so close. The new results show that Johnson beat Legg by 66,444 to 65,336. The recanvass was done Thursday morning and will be certified June 6 by the state Board of Elections. Legg has conceded.
Diabetes group to meet
The Clark County Diabetes Support Group Meeting will be meet June 8 at 6 p.m. The topic is “Changing Eating Behaviors,” based on the curriculum of the American Association of Diabetes Educators. The class will be at The Cooperative Extension Office, 1400 Fortune Drive. To register, call the Health Department at 744-4482.
