Connie Barnett, a 10th-grade student at George Rogers Clark High School, has been named the Future Farmers of America Leader of the Month of May. Miss Barnett helped the GRCHS¿Academic Boosters during their open house, participated in horse judging at the University of Kentucky Field Day, and has as projects hay and show steer. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Barnett.

James Winburn Saunders, son of Mr. and Mrs. William P. Saunders Jr., formerly of Winchester, recently was presented the Eagle Scout rank in a ceremony in Southern Pines, N.C. He is the grandson of Mrs. W.J. Winburn, Winchester. Saunders is a graduate of Pinecrest High School and will attend the University of North Carolina-Wilmington in the fall.
