Vacation Bible School

Danville Church of God — 7-8:30 p.m. June 8-10 at the church. Kids crusade will include prizes, food, games and fun. First Baptist Church of Junction City — 6-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday for children from age 3 through completed grade 5. Theme is “Big Apple Adventure." As a participant in the Boyle County Schools summer feeding program, the church will provide a sack supper from 5:15 to 5:45 p.m. each evening. Fundraiser
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Gravel Switch — beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, the church youth will have a yard sale at 11950 Danville Road, Perryville. Items offered include clothes, furniture and more.
Good things to eat
St. James AME Church — 3-7:30 p.m. Saturday, the church will have a dinner buffet at 124. E. Walnut St. Entrees include fish, chicken and meatloaf; sides include slaw, baked beans, greens, potato salad, green beans, soup beans and macaroni and cheese. Sodas and desserts also are available. Give-aways
Salvisa Christian Church — A community free clothes day will be 2-6 p.m. the first Monday of each month at 155 Sugar St., Salvisa. The first give-away will be Monday. All items of clothing are free.
A Make-A-Blanket Day for adult cancer patients will be noon-2 p.m. June 11 at the church. The blankets will be donated to Commonwealth Cancer Center in Danville. Donations of time, blanket material and monetary contribution are welcome. Each blanket requires a minimum 1.5 yards of fleece.
