Today is deadline for Lil' Red Wagon entries

The Danville-Boyle County Community Arts Center and Premier Limousine’s third annual Great American Lil' Red Wagon Contest registration deadline is today. Register online at www.communityartscenter.net or stop by the Community Arts Center at 401 W. Main St.Entry fee is $10 per wagon. Registration is limited to the first 75 entries.Children must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. A maximum of two children may be seated in each hand-pulled wagon during the parade.Wagons should be decorated according to contest rules. All wagon entries will be showcased in the Great American Brass Band Festival Main Street Parade, with judging and awards presented prior to the parade at Constitution Square State Historic Site. The contest will take place 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Required check-in, judging and parade line up will be at Constitution Square State Historic Site followed by the Main Street parade at 11 a.m.Wagons will be judged in the following categories:n "The Starts & Stripes Standout" for most patriotic designn "Best of the Brass Award" for best representation of the Brass Band spiritn "The Judges Choice Award" for most artistic, creative and unusual designn "The WOW Wagon Award" for the Best in Show winner who receives a family night on the town, including a free limo ride from Premier Limousine, a $40 gift card to Mallard's, and four movie passes to Danville Cinemas 8.All participants will receive a special gift from contributors Baskin Robbins and The Twisted Sifter.
