The Central Ohio Brass Band

The Central Ohio Brass Band formed in 1989 as the Ohio Collegiate Band. It competes regularly at the North American Brass Band Association Championships, and has been the first division winners at NABBA in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
The band’s mission is “to promote the Brass Band tradition through excellent artistic and educational performances for musicians and communities.” The ensemble frequently plays at church functions and community festivals as well as with school groups to promote learning and encourage the brass band tradition in the United States.
COBB hosts its own festival, Ohio Brass Arts Festival, at Wiegel Hall on the campus of Ohio State University. This year’s festival was held April 1-2.
The members of COBB come from a diverse section of the Central Ohio community as well as a number of careers.
