Ray Floyd, with his wife Maria and daughter Christina, posed with the U.S. Open trophy Sunday at Shinnecock Hills in New York after Floyd became the oldest man ever to win America’s national golf championship. The 43-year-old shot a four-under-par 66 in the final round to win by two shots.

Ms. Ladonna Sue Borders and David Duvall will exchange marriage vows at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Oddie Crowe, Ecton Road. The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald A. Borders, Clark County. The groom is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. Cova Duvall. A reception will be held immediately following the ceremony at Clark RECC, Iron Works Road.

Thirty hourly production workers have been laid off at GTE¿Products Corporation’s Winchester plant. The layoffs were effective June 13. The layoffs reduce to 395 the number of employees working at the plant.
