Classes

Alzheimer’s Association — 2-3:30 p.m. July 25 at Lexington Public Library, Beaumont Branch, 3080 Fieldstone Way., the group will present a workshop to help persons with memory loss and their caregivers gain an understanding of commonly prescribed medications and challenges they may face in managing their medications. The workshop will cover safe medication management, what to do about medication concerns, recognition of medication concerns, and medication resources. Mercer County Adult Education — Free GED preparation, workplace soft skill training, basic computer training and other instruction based on needs of participant. Organizations

AARP Chapter of Garrard County — Noon  Tuesday at Ryan’s Steakhouse in Richmond. The group meets every third Tuesday. Optional meal is responsibility of participant. Members of the National AARP or those 50 and older interested in learning about the group are welcome, including residents of surrounding counties.

Stuart Sanders, community services coordinator for the Kentucky Historical Society, will talk about  “Researching 19th Century College Records in Virginia and Kentucky” with a special emphasis on records at Washington and Lee University and Centre College.
