Winchester streets getting upgrade

Wade Sewell with The Allen Company of Winchester had to move and duck under several tree limbs while milling a portion of Boone Avenue late Thursday evening, top photo. The crew had been working nights milling Maple Street from Interstate 64 at exit 96 to Boone Avenue, and Boone Avenue to the Bypass. A portable street light illuminated Hunter Kenney so motorists could see him directing traffic at the intersection of Maple Street and Boone Avenue. The state contract calls for The Allen Company to blacktop both Maple Street and Boone Avenue.
