MORELAND — Anna Roberta McCowan, 77, of Fairfield, Ohio, went to be with the Lord July 21, 2011, at Hospice of Hamilton surrounded by family and friends.
Born July 27, 1933, in Casey County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Maggie Jones Cutter. She married Charles H. McCowan on Dec. 10, 1949, in Moreland, Ky.
Anna Roberta was a manager/owner of SOHIO-BP Oil Co. for 30 years, retiring in 2000. She was actively involved in Home Avenue First Church of God in Trenton, Ohio. Anna Roberta’s faith in the Lord, love for Jesus Christ, and desire to see others follow Jesus is an everlasting witness of God’s great love.
Survivors include two sisters, Nancy Click-Brown and Mabel Carrier; a brother, Joe (Mildred) Cutter; a son Dave (Diane) McCowan; four daughters, Mabel (Gary) Patton, Nancy Gail (Michael) Simmons, Marilyn Gialloreto and Reeda (Stuart) Gartrell; a daughter-in-law, Sheila McCowan; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Anna Roberta was preceded in death by her infant sister, Margaret Geneva Cutter; a brother, Walter Leslie Cutter; a sister, Flonnie Sutherland; a grandson, Joshua D. McCowan; her husband, Charles H. McCowan; and son, J. Don McCowan.
