Enter `Your story' essay contest

Every woman has a story to tell, and we want to hear yours.
Write an inspiring non-fiction essay about yourself and you could have your story published in the first issue of GLOSS magazine. Did you overcome a crisis that tested your courage? Or did you find your purpose and passion in life? Perhaps you have conquered a drug addiction, battled a debilitating disease, or maybe you volunteered in rescue and cleanup efforts after a natural disaster. Whatever the experience, we want to know about it.  So start writing!
 How to enter:
Write a 1,000- to 1,500- word manuscript and enter it by 5 p.m. Sept. 1.
The winner will have her story published in the first issue of GLOSS, which will hit stands Nov. 3. The winner also will receive a prize, which will be announced at a later date.
Participants must be at least 18 years of age to enter.
GLOSS staff members will judge entries and choose a winner. Judges will consider original style and compelling story.
Please submit your essay at glossthemagazine@gmail.com. We ask you submit documents as RTF files. Because of time constraints, we will only accept files submitted via e-mail.
Entries will be edited for spelling and grammatical mistakes only.

GLOSS is a women's magazine published by Advocate Communications Inc. The magazine is set to launch in the fall and will appear in several newspapers in central Kentucky.
