Albert Eugene “Gene” Case, 60, of Nicholasville, husband of Dorothy Mae Wheeler Case, died Monday, July 25, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. Born May 2, 1951, in Staunton, Va., Gene was the son of the late J.C. and Sue Virginia Thompson Case. He was an Army veteran, a custodian, and a lifetime member of the Kentucky VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed playing pool and listening to country and Bluegrass music.
In addition to his wife, Gene is survived by one son, David Case of Connersville, Ind.; one stepson, Steve Gorman of Lexington; two daughters, Regina Dennis and Tonya Parker, both of Connersville, Ind.; one stepdaughter, Tammy Gorman of Nicholasville; one stepdaughter-in-law, Kimberly Gorman; three sisters, Joeann LeMaster of Wellington, Kan., Helen Neeley of Berea, and Janet Sommers of Kansas City, Kan.; four grandchildren, Dustin Dennis, and Lezza, Amanda and Katlen Blanton; and one stepgrandchild, Jacob Andrew Gorman.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Jerry Case.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, July 29, at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Nicholasville with Jason Wheeler officiating. Burial was in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 28, and after 9 a.m. Friday, July 29, at the Tabernacle Baptist Church.
