Prep Volleyball: Burgin downs Lincoln in three games

Burgin dropped the first set to Lincoln County, but came back to beat the Patriots 18-25, 25-17, 25-17 in the teams’ season opener Tuesday at Burgin.
“I'm so proud of the team's effort tonight against Lincoln County.  After falling the first game of the match, we really pulled together and started playing as a team,”¿Burgin coach Maggie McKnight said. “We started settling into our game and making fewer unforced errors.  Overall, their hard work and focus on fundamentals won tonight's match.”
Liz Marcinek had eight kills and three aces for the Bulldogs, Summer Burke had 20 assists, Kaelin May had eight digs, Lindsey Monson had four kills and two blocks and Randi Burke added six kills.
