Jeff Kerr, sports editor of The Winchester Sun since August 1981, has been promoted to news editor of the newspaper. He succeeds Len Cobb, who is moving to Memphis, Tenn., after 16 years with the Sun. Danny Brandenburg, formerly the sports editor of The Richmond Register, Richmond, has assumed the duties of sports editor of the Sun. Kerr, 35, is a native of Cynthiana. Brandenburg, 24, is a native of Irvine.

Clark County Schools are back on top in attendance. After having the highest percentage of average daily attendance of any neighboring school system for five years, local schools fell to second place behind Estill County during the 1983-84 school year. However, they were back on top for the 1984-85 school year, the latest year for which full statistics are available.

A homemade cake and ice cream supper highlighted the recent meeting of the Daughters of America, District No. 5, held at the Clark RECC¿community room. Entertainment was provided by Kevin Robinson, who sang several religious selections. An auction was held with Edward Blakemore as auctioneer.
