Winchester is expecting to burst at the seams Saturday when the eighth annual Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival gets in full swing. The festival began Thursday and will continue through Sunday. Porter Wagoner will highlight festivities Sunday evening at Lykins Park. Also scheduled are balloon races today, Saturday and Sunday.
Former Clark County school superintendent Willis Justice filed Thursday as a candidate for the Clark County Board of Education, subject to the November general election. Justice, 64, seeks to represent the Fourth District, which includes Mount Vernon, Renick, Victory and City Hall precincts.
The eighth annual Bud Light-Daniel Boone Pioneer Festival 10K run will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at College Park with a new course facing the 250 or so runners expected for this year’s race.
